AIBC at CC4ES 2026: when cybersecurity moves beyond the screen
This time we went to the energy security conference without slides, but with an open notebook. Cyber-physical resilience stayed with us most.
From 21 to 23 September, we attended CC4ES – a conference focused on cybersecurity in the energy sector. This time we came without slides or a microphone. We came to listen to people who work with critical infrastructure every day.
The E-ISAC presentation on cyber-physical resilience stayed with us most. In the energy sector, an incident does not end on a screen or in a report: it can affect equipment, processes and the people on the other side of the meter. That perspective has a way of putting priorities in order.
Why AIBC attends events like this
Energy brings regulation, technology and operational security together in one place. The problems are concrete, and the consequences of mistakes are unusually tangible. That makes the sector’s experience valuable well beyond energy itself.
We came back from CC4ES with a useful reminder: a good risk assessment cannot stop at the IT system. It needs to consider what happens next – to the process, the service and the person.
The notebook came back fuller than it arrived. That was exactly the point.
